Evaluating your panel and service capacity

An EV charger can place a significant continuous load on an electrical system. Before installation, we evaluate the existing electrical panel, service capacity, breaker space, conductor size, wiring route, and overall electrical demand of the property.

When a panel or service upgrade is needed

This evaluation is especially important for older homes and businesses that may not have been designed for the additional load of an electric vehicle charger. In some cases, a panel modification, load-management system, meter change, or service upgrade may be needed.

Proper design for continuous charging loads

We are experienced with Ford electric vehicle charging installations and other major charging systems. We pay close attention to conductor sizing, breaker protection, continuous-load requirements, temperature derating, and wiring that may pass through hot attic spaces.

Installed correctly the first time

Improper EV charger installations can result in overheated wiring, melted breakers, damaged electrical panels, or repeated nuisance tripping. Our goal is to install each charger correctly from the beginning so it operates safely without creating problems elsewhere in the electrical system.
